My Google Calendar had the following appointment scheduled for March 15: "EARLY GIRLS ONLY, NO BETTER BOYS!"

I struggled for a good 30 seconds trying to understand what this was about, imagining all sorts of inappropriate possibilities.

Then it dawned on me. It's message to myself that I added last year about planting tomatoes in my garden.

Didn’t get much sleep last night & I’ve been dozing on & off all day.

On Friday I told my better half that I’d add some height to my #tomato towers.

Yesterday I checked on them for #storm damage.

Everything looked good, however my tomatoes have lost about 35cm’s in height!

Wind, water & the weight of all the tomatoes I guess.

They are still being rained on right now. #gardening

I may be getting way too excited about this, but the first tomato seedlings have sprouted!

I’m thinking I’ll stop commenting on #USPol - they’re a lost cause.

More nasturtiums are coming up in my nasturtium pot. The whole pot has seeds but only the very top end seem to be coming up. Hmmmm. Same amount of sun, same potting mix, same watering. Planted at the same depth. A mystery to me.

I lost count of the tomatoes on this side of the Big Pear heirloom tomato. Around 43 or so.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a great “beefsteak” tomato variety? Let’s say I wanna grow one variety this year. I have some Purple Cherokee seeds, which really underperformed last year and I also have some Pineapple Tomato seeds which I did poorly for one reason or another.

Any thoughts?
