I don’t have years of experience with linseed oil paint. This is my first year using it. But I’m hopeful. It behaves differently in application, the promises make sense, and I’ve got some trust in the people who promote and use it, so I’m very interested to see the results.

I have refined #linseed oil from flax oil several times before. One problem I had before was when the sand would get stuck in the screw threads of the jar lid. So this time I am going to use a rubber gasket top jar. #DIYLinseedOil thread 1/

A little series I've made for a tiny flower that was blooming some weeks ago. It seems to be a flax/linseed flower. I've tried to shoot it with different macro techniques but I guess most didn't work (and the flower closes in the evening, while I can't work under the sun, so my choices were limited!).

2 oz of #Turpentine
1 oz burgundy #Pitch
Melt over a slow fire.
With this, [rub onto] new Shoes & Boots in the #Sun with a #Sponge [until] dry.
[Repeat] until fully #Saturated.
Then the #Leather is #Impervious to wet.
The shoes and boots last longer, acquire softness and #Pliability & are the most effective against #Cold.
