@swanson #M42 and #PL / #B4 (and maybe #P6) are the most adaptable mounts there are because they are for full-frame (or in case of P6: Medium Frame) SLRs that inherently have a huge distance between glass and sensor/film and thus enable simple adapters.

  • As for targeted bodies: #m43 (micro-4/3s) is the best option with C(s)-Mount coming in behind if you are on a tight budget.

Simply because #MFT has sufficient pixels for DCI-4K but nit too many to let less-sharp #glass look like ass.

  • And yes, one can really get some awesome vintage lenses for not much money, like some GDR-made 200mm f/4 with 19 blades for excellent bokeh and perfect portraits!

Ciężki skurczybyk, którego postanowiłem podpiąć do Nikona DX i wstępnie przetestować.

This was the last image I was waiting for to complete my mosaic of the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex. This image by itself is great. Starting from left to right - Open Cluster, -279 , , , Open Cluster.

M42 The Great Nebula in Orion - telescope processed image with Moon and Sky Light Filter. The region near M42 includes M43 (De Mairan's Nebula), which is physically part of the same cloud complex but separated by a dust lane, and the Trapezium Cluster of hot, young stars embedded within M42. Other objects include the NGC 1981 open cluster and nearby double stars.M42 The Great Nebula in Orion - unprocessed image with Moon and Sky Light Filter. Sh2-279 is a bright reflection nebula and HII region in Orion's Sword, just north of M42. Its dust lanes form a dark silhouette resembling a running man.

Heading back to - for another Moon and Skylight Filter vs LP Filter test. In this case I feel the Moon and Skylight Filter won the comparison.

M42 - Great Nebula in Orion - telescope processed image with Moon and Skylight Filter. It seems that the Moon and Skylight filter allowed the denoising to leave more of the details in the image. M42 - Great Nebula in Orion - unprocessed with Moon and Skylight Filter. This image does not seem much better than the unprocessed image with the LP Filter. M42 - Great Nebula in Orion - telescope processed image with LP Filter. Still a beautiful image with the denoising. I feel the one with the Moon and Skylight image is slightly better. M42 - Great Nebula in Orion - unprocessed image with LP Filter. In this phase both unprocessed images seem very similar.
Had a little over an hour to throw my gear out behind the station to get this. Turned out pretty good even with a full moon. 🚑 anyhow…….hears the Orion Nebula……#astrophotographer #deepsky #deepskyphotography #oregon #dwarf3 #m42 #astrophotography #deepspacephotography

Good Saturday morning everyone. Wound up being more than 3 days to have the sky clear up to return to observations. The s50 has been out since last night. Taking out the Odyssey Pro this morning as well. Here is the Odyssey Pro’s observation of - .

M42 - Great Nebula in Orion - telescope processed image. M42, the Orion Nebula, is the closest large stellar nursery to Earth (1,350 light-years), a bright cloud of gas and dust where new stars and planetary systems are forming.

One the other mosaics were done, decided to to. 4K image of .

M42 The Orion Nebula - telescope processed image. M42 is part of the vast Orion Molecular Cloud Complex, a giant stellar nursery. It is near the Flame Nebula, Horsehead Nebula, M43, and the Running Man Nebula.M42 The Orion Nebula - unprocessed image. The most important stars are the four bright, young stars in its center, collectively known as the Trapezium Cluster (Theta-1 Orionis), which illuminate the gas.

Decided to go try and observe and again now that I have the s50 in equatorial mode. Let the telescope take its time on this one. I like the results.

Testing the mosaic feature on the s50 this morning. This was the result after an hour. Went 4x and rotated the framing to 45 degrees. Definitely a mosaic with the s50 will take time. You can see and in the image.

Good Thursday morning. To busy at home today to spend too much time using the new s50. Decided to start with - . I need still to review the settings on the app / telescope.

This weekend I will make observations of same object with the same durations with the s50 and the Odyssey Pro.

Last observation of the morning. - - . 35 minute observation. Sharing the processed and unprocessed images - even unprocessed this is impressive. Orion is right the the center right of the image, with to the center left.

M42 - Great Nebula in Orion - telescope processed image. M42 is a massive stellar nursery in the constellation Orion, a glowing cloud of gas and dust where new stars are actively being born.M42 - Great Nebula in Orion - unprocessed image. You can actually see it with your naked eye! It looks like a fuzzy, slightly brighter star in the "sword" of the constellation Orion.
