Two adults found dead inside Mount Vernon apartment building - Adam Conn
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (WCMH) – An apartment building where two people were found dead has been secured as a crime scene, Mount Vernon police said.
According to a news release, officers responded to the 100 block of South Gay Street in Mount Vernon to conduct a welfare check. Just after 10 p.m. Wednesday, police discovered two adults, one man and one woman, dead inside the apartment.

Police did not release any information on the circumstances surrounding their deaths. No other individuals were found inside the residence.
Detectives from Mount Vernon police and investigators from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, along with representatives from the Knox County coroner’s office and the Knox County prosecutor’s office, were present at the scene.
Authorities believe the incident is an isolated and that there is no threat to the community.
The victim’s names were not immediately released.
