There's a popular citizen journalist, Brandon Buckingham, with fundraising video on YouTube. He's in hospital hooked up to a bunch of stuff & has pneumonia & other sicknesses. He has been unmasked & traveling all over the world for awhile. I posted on his hospital vid good luck & I hope he starts #MaskingUp after recovery. I mentioned that I work in health care & that covid, especially multiple infections, tends to trigger pneumonia, organ failures, neuro damage, latent TB activation & more.

Looking for advice.

I'm still masking, and deeply want to start working with local mutual aid groups with an eye towards meeting like-minded people. My "new person" social is damn rusty. And I've got childhood trauma from being the bullied weird kid to push past.. which is doable, but is gonna be there. I also haven't tried to build new F2F relationships with anyone who wasn't already on the same page about disease prevention.

Any suggestions?

Today is an adventure at the #Zoo. I’m thankful it’s not crazy out, but there are more people than I expected. We’re on of few people #MaskingUp here. Ah well.

Tomorrow is LARP for me

At this point, I know maybe 6 or 7 people (8 if you include me) irl, that haven't been infected with #Covid19.

Every time I tell people I've never gotten #Covid , they seem shocked.

All the people I know who are #Novid do at least 2 of the following.

- Not spending time indoors unmasked around others that aren't in their "bubble." If they do see people outside their bubble, they try to do stuff outside. If it has to be indoors, everyone must #MaskUp when inside

- Don't spend a lot of time in public places indoors - especially when there are crowds.

- Having common shared agreements about #CovidPrecautions with the people they do see unmasked (usually about 3 people total - sometimes less - and it's pretty much always the people they live with).

- #Masking in public using high-quality and well fitted masks (N95/KF94/KN95) - everyone I know who has remained Covid free is doing this.

I've watched basically every single person I know catch Covid, some of them multiple times, and it gets harder for me to comprehend how myself and others are screaming from the rooftops about #LayersOfProtection , yet they're still not #MaskingUp.

It's honestly just exhausting at this point because not only can the social isolation get you down sometimes, but I'm also just tired of seeing my friends get sick.

Last flight home is out of #LondonHeathrow. Didn’t get outside the airport but did enjoy an Elderflower tonic which was delightful.

I’m looking around the gate area and I’d say there are 150 ppl in my vicinity — only 1 wearing a mask. Same at the conference, v low #MaskingUp among 1000s there. Yet there was someone hack-coughing on virtually every bus, train, flight, & conference hall I visited.

This is endemic #COVID19 in Maryland: consistent community transmission and stable hospitalizations. We have over 400 Marylanders in the hospital consistently since May. Keeping up with #CovidVaccine boosters and #MaskingUp in indoor settings will help.
