Minnesota Representative and Medical Doctor Kelly Morrison was granted an oversight visit of the Whipple immigration detention center in Minneapolis.

Her testimony confirms the horrific treatment of people who have been kidnapped by ICE. Because she’s an MD, she understands the situation more acutely than other politicians might.

I've heard a few local stories also from Shoreline of ICE goons backing down under the simplest of resistance... just recording them and telling them to stop.

Rapid response protests don't work 100% of the time but they do work SOME of the time.

The real challenge of melting ICE in the region isn't one of politicians, cops or even veteran activists saving us... it's a question of whether we can ALL build communities that are willing to materially support their neighbors.

My son ditched school with over a thousand other students yesterday in Denver.

I was a square and worked, but I didn't shop.

From what I've read, a lot of people participated in some form.

In organizing terms, it looked like a successful stress test - inviting people to commit to something more significant than before (weekend rallies)

The #MeltICE pattern is based on a Norwegian hat used to protest the Nazi occupation of Norway in the 1940s. The hats were called "nisselue," which roughly translates to Santa hat. Proceeds from pattern purchases are being donated to Minneapolis immigrant charitable organizations.
