I help admin the Monster Talk FB group. It gets hit with a lot of engagement spam so I set new memberships to require admin approval and I ask a very simple question. FB spam bots are auto filling it it with a promise to behave. Sure. Sure. End of the day no shit gets past me. Almost literally.

Hello my American cousins! Happy /American/ thanksgiving! Just as some regions have a tradition of listening to "Alice's Restaurant" my /Canadian/ thanksgiving tradition for the last few years has been to take part of the long weekend to re-listen to the Monster Talk podcast's 2-part series on The Shaver Mysteries.

This is an incredibly information dense podcast that basically, over about 3 hours, explains how we got from early ideas of hollow earth to basically all the crap you see on the History channel today.

Their well argued hypothesis is a huge amount comes from the Shaver Mysteries. More you understand the history of the Shaver Mysteries more you grasp the "paranormal universal field theory" (PUFT) and the blithering unoriginality of today's batch of History channel cretins.

Anyway, if you've listened before, listen again. And re-listen EVERY thanksgiving (American or Canadian). If you've not even heard of any of this. Start.
