Built a custom Raspberry Pi 4 RT OS using Buildroot.
Manually downloaded the Raspberry kernel (6.12.61) and PREEMPT_RT patch (6.12.57), applied locally and produced a bootable SD.
It works.
No GUI, CLI tools only, deterministic boot and real-time behavior.

In KOrganizer, you can also create todo's which also is supported by CalDav. So I want to use it as well. But like good unix design, khal does not support that. Instead I need to use a different task manager which is not available on OpenSuse Tumbleweed...
I struggled to find this package on OpenSuse. I did not feel like actually building it from scratch. Surely, there are alternatives, but without CalDav support.
I might just stick with KOrganizer for now. #nogui
I am running a caldav server. It has 1 calendar of 1 user. I try to sync this across multiple devices and applications. On the laptop I have KOrganizer and khal. It was quite easy to setup in KOrganizer in comparison to khal. After failure with authentications, I finally got it to work. However, it comes with a disadvantage, I need to sync it constantly. I have not put it in a cron job.I guess that's the good and bad part of it. I still need see if this can replace KOrganizer in my case #nogui

Replacing your application with applications in CLI/TUI. I thought this was an interesting experiment and something I would like to try as well. It seems doable, but with every illusion, I am probably up for a rude awakening.
Let's start with calendars and todo lists. I am starting my holidays and need to be sure to plan my days to not waste days resting or worse, scrolling mindlessly on YouTube. Here I started with khal, vdirsyncer and caldav. #nogui

This week, I'm running a continuous 7-day uptime test on BashCore: #noGUI, minimal setup, real usage.
6 terminals, 6 tasks:
- htop
- tshark (live capture)
- ping (via proxychains + Tor)
- msfconsole
- stress loop: while true; do echo ""; sleep 5; done
- stress-ng --cpu 1 --cpu-load 15 --timeout 7d
Running on an old Acer Aspire One (D160) with 2 GB RAM with NordVPN installed.
No disk writes. No frills. Just to see if it holds.
