@AccidentalHaiku Your bot found and boosted my post that used no hashtags, meaning it had to scrape and process text. I also have had #NoIndex and #NoBot in my profile for years now. Does this bot intentionally disregard the filter flags or is this an oversight?
Please correct this to respect the flags some of us use to prevent this kind of data capture.

What effect these tags have when you put them in bio? I saw some people have it
@atomicpoet @dansup we should be building tools to create better experiences, not griping about #noindex #nobridge and the sort. There will always be people not following the rules. If you care about privacy, don't post PII, and don't post anything you wouldn't mind falling into the hands of big tech. In the age of LLMs they will do everything they can to circumvent any protection implemented by fedi devs and they have way more resources. UX > Fedi social norms 100% of the time IMO.
Today I learned about the content=no index and content=noarchive tag.
It makes it so the article doesn’t show up on search results and doesn’t get archived.
But I learned because apparently, WaPo used it on one of their own articles.

The chat about "grabbing comments" at the start is quite interesting. I don't know if you know already, but it is common for people who don't want their comments archived to have #noarchive (or #noindex, or #norobots) in their bio. Nothing is a surefire protection, since what they want is not very coherent (they kind of want you to read their mind) - but accounting for that tag at least gives people an opt-out.
I really like the idea of a #noml meta tag in addition to #noindex nofollow, etc.
I think there could be a way added in #robots.txt as well, but honestly, robots.txt was always a solution meant to minimize the amount/scope of pages a robot tries to fetch, whereas a meta-tag / x-header solution is better when you want some but not all uses of page content (i.e. the robot still ought to fetch the page) - so I'm not in a rush to modify robots.txt's spec
