@lj_writes totally agree about sharing labour (#Barnraising principles). Automation is only sustainable to the degree that the farm (or *maybe* its surrounding area) can produce the energy to power it. Most current farm automation is totally dependent on fossil fuels and is unlikely to be sustainable with biogas or electric conversions. #OpenSourceEcology is an #OpenHardware project creating DIY farm machinery:
