Funnily enough this immediately gave me inspiration for a new (yet to be written) follow-up to my 2014 post about #QuattroPro for #DOS spreadsheets.
Back then I declared those obsolete because no modern application was able to read them.
Fast-forward 11 years, and @libreoffice calc appears to read them without any problems at all!

I'm feeling the nostalgic lure of old MS-DOS games again. I may give the Gold Box D&D games another go. I don't think I've played any of them in ~15 years.
Last time, I used a hex editor to modify my characters. (Cheating, to be clear.) It was rather clunky & not intuitive. A lot of trial & error was needed.
But check this out...someone made an online tool to do the dirty work. Very cool!
Yesterday I spent the afternoon trying to figure out how to move the fleet in an old #DOS game called #CarriersAtWar (1992). The game lets you take command of one or more strike groups made up of ships, aircraft carriers, or ports.

So I 3D printed a design that I thought would make for a fun pin to put on a backpack or laptop case....but so far no one I've shown it to has recognized this logo instantly...feeling old today.

As I was testing the mouse support I got an idea for a small game that I could include with the OS. It will justify the need for that support in keyboard/text-only driven system.
Here are few test sprites and how it could look like. Your cursor will be changed to that animal, you will leave the trails on the ground (more and more) and you need to avoid the mop that is trying to clean the floor.
Do you recognize what I was inspired by? Are you that old? ;)
