I just discovered the rabbit hole of terminal file manager. (For now) I‘m using yazi (https://yazi-rs.github.io).
It has a nice look, is easy to configure and is useable with vim-like and shell commands. Which terminal file manager do you use and why?
My approach of setting visible area thumbnail rendering priorities works really-really well.
Compare it with:
- Commander one (renders one by one)
- Finder (renders slowly behind scroll)
- My solution so fast, it's even hard to notice, this is how it quick, so I can keep scrolling! Wow

I recently started to work on 3DFM, a #filemanager in #3D. It's currently still in #beta, still has bugs, and doesn't do much, but I wanted to share it.
It's made in #C++ with #raylib, released under the #gplv3 , and available pre-compiled for #windows, #macos and #linux
Features :
- Open and navigate your #directories as 3d cubes
- Show or hide your hidden files
- Color is set by the file type (dir, regular, symlink, etc...)

A shout out to one of my workhorse android apps,
CX File Explorer.
This app does everything files you want, network, image view, mp3 player and yesterday I found it has a built in ftp server for local lan quick connects/transfer.

Today I learned that #windows11 finally has a #tabbed #filemanager. Wow! I mean, #linux file managers have had tabs for years, but I'm not complaining. Imagine, a new #windows feature that actually makes my work easier!
