The world of integrated circuits is a whole lot more interelated than we think;

I got curious about why #Broadcom makes the #SoC for the best-selling #computer of all time and yet they don't make any other consumer computers.

Turns out that the #BCM series of chips is used in lots of other places; network equipment, phones, wearables, set-top boxes, infotainment systems in cars!

There are #RaspberryPis everywhere!

@stooovie good call! Migrated away from my armada of #raspberrypis last year (to an old zotac, which runs only #homeassistant, a dedicated #nas and a beefy optiplex for #plex et al.) and have never looked back. I guess running constantly at the limits of performance is not good for any system. #proxmox is nice but centralisation of everything on one machine, even in containers and virtual machines, has not worked well for me. I hope you have better luck!

After three years of (not so) silent diplomacy by various friends I started looking at Bundlewrap for configuring/controlling the cloud of #raspberrypis and other assorted Unix-like machines floating around my home.

But all these tools (looking at you Andible, Puppet, Chef, see how old I am) just don’t fit naturally to my way of thinking…

Put a 5xPi (20 core) kubernetes (k3s) cluster in my grow tent to passively heat plants with its' thermal side effects this cold winter. I'll have to watch the humidity, but I do love building systems that symbiotically help each other, even when seemingly unrelated. #RaspberryPis #kubernetes #k8s #k3s #plants

Mein kleines #Experiment ein #Mesh via #batman und #alfred ausschließlich auf #Raspberrypis zu erstellen ist wunderbar geglückt. 🤗
Der Aufbau umfasst einen Pi3-B+ als Gateway (WAN-in über Ethernet oder USB LTE Stick), einen Pi3-B+ als Bridge, also quasi Verteiler für Geräte die außerhalb des Mesh ins Netz wollen, und dazwischen derzeit 3x PiZero-W als Mesh-Node.
Einen Netzwerk-bench habe ich noch nicht gemacht, allerdings funktioniert normales surfen hinter der Bridge tadellos. Auch Videos in HD lassen sich sauber und flüssig abspielen.

Ich habe zwar noch keinen Anwendungsbereich dafür, aber ich bin sehr positiv überrascht wie gut das ganze funktioniert ;-)
