METEORS
To load and run the program place the cassette in the cassette recorder,
type
CHAIN "METEORS"
and press RETURN; the "Searching" message should appear on the
screen as you do this. Now press the PLAY button on the cassette
recorder and wait for the program to load. The title page will load in
less than one minute, and the main program will take a further three
minutes to load. The program will run as soon as loading is complete.
Steer the ship to avoid the meteors, firing at them as you go. Large
meteors will split into two smaller ones when they are hit, and these.
will in turn break into four fragments. Watch out for hostile flying
saucers which fire at you as they pass.
When the going gets too rough you can try escaping through
hyperspace, but you can't be sure where you will re-materialise and so
this can be risky!
Clear all the meteors before going on to the next screen. You start off.
with three ships but can gain an extra one every time you score 10000
points.

I recently hacked #Elite on the #Acorn #Archimedes to send scores to a live scoreboard across an #Econet network.

Recreational Computing of the day - using a Mega65 and a Link232 WiFi Modem built for C64s to connect to the snobsoft.de BBS.

Lot's of technology on my side although with the original Look&Feel - yes I was to lazy to set up the real, period-correct hardware.

But this i not true for the BBS. Snobsoft.de still runs on the original Hardware! A C64, two Disk Drives and it even offers real Modem connections (besides Telnet). It just had a brief hiatus of a few decades but is now reachable again!

A customer decided to give me over 200 old floppy disks. Over half have data but still about 80 brand new still in their shrink wrap which is super cool.

Gonna need to get a usb floppy drive to see if any have data that isn’t archived yet, I doubt it but never hurts to check!!
