Most salamanders have 4 toes on front and 5 toes on hind feet, but this one is unique with 4 toes on all. sorry hard to photograph that characteristic but please enjoy other cuteness characteristics.

Never a dull moment als dassenverzorger. Vandaag was ik aan het rommelen in de buitenren en toen kwam ik tussen de boomschorssnippers een dikke oranje rups tegen. Bij nadere inspectie bleek de rups pootjes, een staart en een heel lief snoetje te hebben. Wat een beauty, deze alpenwatersalamander. Intussen is ze weer veilig op pad.
