Stopping for lunch at the church in Bettws. The vicar invited us in the use the facilities and made us tea and coffee.

The train was on time and dropped us off in Maesteg to start our walk.

Enjoyed exploring the disused Llynfi railway line stretching into the village of Aberkenfig alongside the River Ogmore as part of my Pyle Sarn Slow Ways adventure. 5 ⭐️ Slow Ways route from Pyle to Sarn passing through the amazing Parc Slip nature reserve. A reclaimed mine with a sad history when 112 miners died from an explosion in 1892. Another Slow Ways completed from Pyle to Sarn running primarily along the old Llynfi to Porthcawl train/tram line. Route surveyed and 5⭐️ review given.
