It was a decidedly autumnal week, starting with a scarecrow festival and peppered with delights to boost.

We had a wonderful time in Mahone Bay today for their Scarecrow Festival. We saw so many scarecrows, explored the fairy trail, and I met up with my old friend Merlin and their kid. For now I want to share some of the scarecrow highlights.

My niece was pushing another kid on a playground swing yesterday and her finger got caught in the bare chain of the swing. She fully lost the tip of her finger and won’t know if she can keep part of her finger until a consultation with plastic surgeons next week.
I feel so awful about the pain she is in now and the trauma and anxiety she will carry forward.

I got an R36S to consolidate some of my games emulation. I grew up with the Game Boy, so the form factor is ideal for me and it’s great value for a capable emulation machine.
To start, I want to finally finish Xenogears, give Glory Hunters a proper play through, and revisit some Kirby Game Boy games with fan colourizations. (1) (2)

On Saturday the Wellington Urban Scarecrow Festival was held for the first time. It was fun to see the scarecrows in the town and my nieces enjoyed the craft sections where they made mini scarecrows. Looking forward to next year's event.

Spent a pleasant couple of hours strolling up and down Main Street in Erin, Ontario. All the shops had a street sale, and we also viewed the traditional #scarecrows that Erin merchants put outside their businesses each fall. Of course, the warm fall weather demanded that we stop by Bailey's, our favourite ice cream store that serves very generous portions.
