They were still using an outdated version (24.0.11) of @nextcloud as of mid-January, which is end-of-life and has no security fixes anymore - a major security risk.

However, it's worth noting that their paid servers were already running on newer versions, but some still haven't been updated to the latest patch level.

It was a red team hacking exercise performed in a safe environment so no harm done — but releasing AI agents carries enormous risks. This needs to be regulated massively.
