I have received the #SessionMessenger node staking reward (#SESH token) https://stake.getsession.org . The cost (shown on https://arbiscan.io explorer) was $0.002 (staking cost was $0.17). It may not seem high, but if the price would only be electricity cost, then the $0.002 is equal (in my country) to:

Turn on 10W LED bulb for approximately 71 minutes
Charging a mobile phone for approximately 179 minutes
Running a computer (100W) for approximately 7.1 minutes

seeing that, the TX does not seem so cheap... I have not found any information on how is #Arbitrum One fee made up, but read that it has been significantly decreased by the developers in the past..

Of course, that doesn't mean they automatically get to influence the project direction and compromise its values. However, as far as self-hosting on minimal/budget systems goes, #chatmail wins.

Also, SimpleX plans to integrate #cryptocurrency (like #SessionMessenger did) in the future so that will add more complexity.

Some things come to an end. CosmicNation has decided not to continue with the Session Open Communities. After over a year of testing we concluded with that for privacy, Session is a remarkable messenger but the developers show no sign of being interested in separating illegal activity from legal activity. We saw more and more disgusting spam hitting our communities on Session. We don't want to be associated with such content nor such a messenger.
