💥 ❤️ 📣 NEW RELEASE 📣 ❤️ 💥 #Shufflecake v0.5.2 fixes a bug in the tests and adds a guide for first time contributors. It also features the first external submitted contribution: a progress status monitoring for the slow device initialization!

A big shoutout to @benjaminV for submitting the first PR contribution to #shufflecake ! With this opportunity we also added a file CONTRIBUTING.md (for now in the `dev` branch) with instructions on how to submit contributions!

Hello folks, in case you wonder why we're low on news these weeks... We are working on some novel methods to boost substantially the performance of #Shufflecake Lite *and* keeping crash consistency at the same time! But it's also busy weeks for us, traveling abroad, in the process of switching jobs, family duties... real life calls 😀 we'll get back to work soon anyway, so stay tuned!

@lamp you raise valid points, we will take them into account if and when we decide to port #shufflecake to #rust . That is a low-priority goal for now anyway.

💥 ❤️ 📣 NEW RELEASE 📣 ❤️ 💥 #Shufflecake v0.5.0 is a major rewrite and introduces the new "Shufflecake Lite" scheme as default, with improved performance and data reliability but without sacrificing security. The "old" Legacy scheme is still supported for backward-compatibility.

💥 ❤️ 📣 New updated revision of the #Shufflecake research paper 📣 ❤️ 💥 available on #IACR #Eprint https://eprint.iacr.org/2023/1529 and #arXiv https://arxiv.org/abs/2310.04589 (still not out, scheduled next Monday) which tracks changes up to software v0.4.5 and clarifies that the described scheme is the `Legacy' version of Shufflecake, and that future versions might deviate from the paper (*ah-ehm*... Lite *cough*). Also typo fixes and language improvements.

The interwebz hath spoken regarding the best outreach platform for #shufflecake community (I mean, 3 votes is *definitely* statistically significant!)

So, #blog it is! We will try out #grav (on a different machine from the website). Question is, to #docker or not to Docker?

@Ange cool idea, but that goes more in the direction of #steganography which is a different topic, that's why I didn't mention it. But, yes, that can be done! Actually, since #shufflecake (like #truecrypt and #veracrypt ) does not have cleartext headers, the same technique could be used seaminglessly!
