It serves no purpose now except to cause confusion, and it isn't clear, since it is on the same post as the stop sign, what purpose it may EVER have served...

Oh, wise fediverse, does anyone have a link to a clear explanation/video demonstration of screenprinting used in the process of applying a design for enamelling on metal?

I'm talking about porcelain (vitreous in the UK) enamel signs, and how more complex lettering and pictorial elements can be produced using screenprinting.

This CVS pharmacy sign is so bizarre: it’s obviously meant to be pasted behind a clear glass window; hence the “Remove to expose adhesive” plastic sheet that covers the words in the sign. But since this branch has no glass windows, they’ve decided to paste it with the adhesive cover intact on their frosted glass divider.

But look: they used clear packing tape to paste the sign down, and the packing tape has made the frosted glass transparent. The image you see in the tape is actually what’s *behind* the glass divider.
