Don't wanna jinx it (and after all it IS bad luck to be superstitious 😉) but since nailing down the settings in the excellent #spamblocker app I have finally had 4 clear days with no friggin spam phonecalls.
Set to strictly allow only numbers in contacts with Regex rules to allow UK landlines as an exception.
Importantly I chose option to silently answer blocked calls and hangup after one second = no voicemails and I suspect the bot programs eventually give up.

The #spamblocker app has now hung up on 18 calls in 8 days. I have been undisturbed and no scumbag voicemails either.
It affords me a small pleasure to see the list of calls, answered with silence for exactly one second before being hung up.
Whether or not the algorithm will eventually 'give up' remains to be seen, but at least from my point of view the problem is solved.
Had to deal with increasing numbers of spam calls in the last months. So I set up some kind of firewall on my phone.
Found the excellent app SpamBlocker on F-Droid https://f-droid.org/en/packages/spam.blocker/
It has a bit of a learning curve though. With *lots* of options making the UI and UX a bit "special". But there's lots of context help - and it eventually just works.
Next step: actually identify newly incoming spam calls. For this there's a community curated spam list on https://phoneblock.net/
This project has an API that can be plugged into the SpamBlocker app; for identifying and reporting numbers.

TOP TIP!
When you tap the topmost toggle in settings to Enable the functionality you __*still*__ need to further tap the icon on the right to switch on __*enable*__ for phone or SMS or both.
An exceptional array of functions, too many for a toot.
I particularly like the 3 different blocked call handling modes, the Hang-Up stops voicemails. Yes!
Finally, some peace and quiet! iOS 26 is reportedly bringing a new feature that promises to end iPhone spam calls. Is this the digital hero we've been waiting for, or will spammers just find a new workaround?

Ich nutze die App #spamblocker und habe die API von #PhoneBlock hinterlegt.
Bisher waren die Spamnummern aus meiner Anrufliste auch bei PhoneBlock hinterlegt.

Abgesehen davon, dass dieses Vorgehen den Browser bei mir ebenfalls killt, was ist jetzt die bevorzugte Lösung?

Ich habe Vivaldi und Brave getestet. Die basieren auf Firefox und blocken die Werbung weg. Aber was, wenn FF die Blocker nicht mehr unterstützen würde?
#SpamBlocker vient d’apparaître sur #FDroid, il permet de bloquer les spams téléphonique et SMS. Comme c'est passé à un rythme de plusieurs appels de bots par jours, c'est du pain bénit.
La page du wiki donne directement la #regexp parfaite pour bloquer tous les numéros spameurs pour la #France métropolitaine et DOM-Tom, comme le gouvernement est incapable de les bloquer:
^(?:33|0)?(?:162|163|270|271|377|378|424|425|568|569|948|949)\d{6}$

Pas mal embêté par des appels non sollicités ces derniers temps (démarchage énergie), sur des numéros en 06 ou 07, j'ai mis à jour l'article sur #spamblocker avec ce que j'ai pu trouver à ce sujet.
J'en ai profité pour refaire le tour de cette application android vraiment complète et puissante.

With the current phone #spam situation here in Spain, I've found something I hope can help mitigate it.
#PhoneBlock (https://phoneblock.net) is a crowdsourced and free service for phone numbers reported as spam. It can be configured to work with #SpamBlocker from F-Droid (https://f-droid.org/packages/spam.blocker/).
Unfortunately, PhoneBlock is in german only, but the setup needs to only be done once.
I'm not sure about the usefulness here or in other countries, but I guess the more people use it the better.
