Shaw House was an interesting place to visit. Not much on the inside but there were several battles fought here in the civil war & Charles I was almost hit by a musket ball here (allegedly!).
They had an interesting display of artwork in the grounds.

Today's second stop was Highclere Castle. Downton Abbey was filmed here (I've not seen it). There's also a collection of Egyptian artifacts in the basement. You're not allowed to take photos inside.

Today's visit to Harlaxton Manor. Currently the UK college of the University of Evansville, Indiana, USA. It would be an interesting place to study & the whole place felt very American. It even has those US school chairs with the tables attached. I was most impressed!
