It took us 9:30 hours moving time for 60k. Did it with my favourite human being. For her it was more than twice what she ever run before in one go.

Did a run around a lake. Due to physical reasons lakes tend to be quite flat, but we still had 1800m elevation gain/loss.

Despite the lovely scenery I'm struggling to find the peace and relaxation I usually find when I go running. I know it'll pass and there'll be better days but the external stresses have just been a bit overwhelming the last couple of days.

Very late cancellation at parkrun today. Was confirmed going ahead but late rain turned everything into sheet ice. Went to a local country park instead, saw some deer roaming about but should have just gone home. Lethal ice, even on the trails, so much more walking than running 🥶😬 Gonna have a sore back with all the clenching I was having to do!

Can't explain how great running on the trails makes me feel. So often I get caught up chasing PB's in races, but plodding up a big hill and soaking in amazing views just feels amazing. Having to make a rather rapid detour over a stone wall to avoid cattle charging at me was the only minor downside today! 😂
