It took me over 20 years of working to nail down the criteria that makes a difference between enjoying #work and disliking work: can my manager, or the person who leads this project, accept when someone says no. Or questions a decision.
Every time I have dealt either a manager who was open to discussion and listened to feedback from their team, I liked my job. It didn’t really matter what the job was.
But the coolest job in the world becomes a complete drag if my manager expects yes-people.
