A paper of mine was published in the Journal of Open Humanities Data: "Developing a Data Model for Theatre Productions in a Wikibase Instance: A Case Study Approach" ☺️ 🎭
I developed a data model that can map #productions, #costumes, spatial settings, and interactive audience elements. Implemented in a #Wikibase instance, it enables #SPARQL queries on these elements of productions as well as roles, and casts.

Im Zuge des Editathons zum Seminar für orientalische Sprachen #SOS (https://lab.sbb.berlin/sos/) fällt auch auf, wie notwendig #wikidata als Komplement zur #GND ist. Die Einträge dort sind oftmals bis zur Unkenntlichkeit knapp bzw. lückenhaft und es gibt keine Möglichkeit, Informationen zu ergänzen. In Wikidata lassen sich ebenso nischige wie wichtige Informationen ergänzen – ohne die Personen oftmals kaum verlässlich identifizierbar bleiben.

Erschließung des Seminars für Orientalische Sprachen #SOS für den #Editathon klappt einigermaßen gut: Vorlesungsverzeichnisse der HU ziehen und parsen -> Bilder der Abschnitte zum Seminar herunterladen -> mit qwen-vl strukturieren -> mit OpenRefine reconcilen. Yesterday I saw the video of the journalist Georgia Fort when she got arrested after documenting a protest in #Minnesota. So, I wonder who she was. Since I did not find her in #Wikipedia and #Wikidata, I created her Wikidata page (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q137942647). However, another person created another page mostly at the same time. I learned three things today: it is easy to detect duplicates because of functional properties, how to talk to users, and how to merge pages.
