@itsfoss I think microsoft's #windows hasn't got enough competition. I don't mean #linux isn't good enough competition, I mean consumer-facing products like #laptops and #desktops are sold with #Window11 preinstalled instead of #ubuntu 24.04

@edsantos I agree 100% that usage of #LinuxDesktop will grow exponentially in 2025. There are a lot of factors that will contribute towards this. The obsolescence forced by #Window11 will push many to Linux. Every day the moves forward enables Linux to run more and more Windows software. As a gaming system, in many cases it has superior performance.

Windows 10 hat keine Updates mehr gezogen, der Store ging nicht mehr, Suchen war ohne Funktion. Drüber installieren hat nichts gebracht.

Zähneknirschend habe ich die Registry modifiziert und Windows 11 installiert.

Immerhin, die Taskleiste hat mittlerweile das unselige Gruppieren verlernt und die Symbolberschriftung bei laufenden Programmen wird auch angezeigt.

Auch wenn es viele gehasst haben, ich hab den Windows Start als Vollbild geliebt. Leider gibt's den nicht mehr und alle mühevoll arrangierten Icons sind weg. Statt dessen muss ich mich durch eine blöde App-Liste quälen.

Und ich fühle mich von Windows bedroht:
