Speaking of nostalgic tech one of such gadgets for me are WindowsPhone smartphones, predominantly the ones with #windowsphone7 - great typing experience, great cameras (for that time), blazing fast UI, sleek and comfortable in hand. They were miles ahead of Android phones at the beginning. What a shame it's all got vanished :(

I forgot that Windows Phone only showed a close button on the focused window in Multitasking but I think being able to close other windows is more useful. If you want to, I can add an option to only show the close button for the window at the center of the screen.

If someone hasn't done it already, I think it would be cool to figure out how the Clicks hardware keyboard's app works and what it does and port its functions to Linux in case any of the Android versions can fit a Linux phone easily enough with or without modifications. Maybe see if it works on any Windows Phones, too (8.1 Update 2 added Bluetooth keyboard support and 10 added mouse support).

Today I learned there's another thing called Retiled which seems to be pretty new, I never heard about it before. It's a Live Tile and application restoration project for Windows Phone and Windows 8.x.

@ipg Thinking about the design lineage of the Lumia 800, I guess it makes sense: the body is basically the #Nokia #N9 - which was all screen - so put the overlay on and keep the screen the same.

I've used #googlepixel most of my adult life as my main driver for my phone. However with battery issues, lack of support for mics/cams, and overall terrible google fi service. I honestly miss the days of #Windowsphone, those were by far the best phones on the market.

Late reply, sorry. I don't read substack, but just wanted to say that I was convinced that HP killed #webOS on behalf of Microsoft's #WindowsPhone. What a success that was.

Kids have found my old stack of mobile phones and so we’re currently playing with a few different #WindowsPhone #WinPhone and wow I miss my old #Lumia 950 XL it’s still so nice to use! Even the #Nokia Lumia 1020 is enjoyable, kids are fascinated by the camera grip add on to it! Next mission is to find the charger for the Nokia 8310! That will definitely blow their minds! 😂
