Now with timestamps like X-Files.
As it seems the logic thing is to expand the first set of events into different chapters beyond the second. That means that I'm now in 2307 that will be only a scene in the past but set up a bit of the world & apparently their will now some generational time skips in the WIP.
Or I set up a Prologue?🤔
With my snails pace I'm not very keen on the idea but it won't destroy everything only explain a little bit more, which shouldn't be a bad thing.
Shipwreck, if it gets even bigger I really have to think about splitting it in books & care about publishing (after all the other fine stuff).
Sadly my RPG-DM brain is in Ultra Stress Mode & now demands cleaned-up source material like timeline, maps, etc, switching to chapter(book?) centric WIP's & to not make any lore mistakes (that's ridiculous I am the lore writing person nothing is released other than here the WIP related answers).

Do particular kinds of animals show up in your writing?
The Desolation series is set on an alien planet and I'm drawing inspiration from Devonian period (with a dash of Silurian and Carboniferous) for the plants and animals. So a lot of giant crustaceans and pre-dinosaur nasties. Fun stuff.

<- irony that she is on the brink of an hard eating disorder, the only thing keeping her stomach from loosing its digestion ability for solid food are her cooking, if she eats with the crew (often she doesn't just keeping around) and her beloved honey toast.
Arkham she owns a restaurant... Place... And it's interior but she is more of an take out person and finds the refined EQuil good enough.
And she only owns it do to the fact she helped someone out.
She knows her way around some foods but you wouldn't call it spectacular or even... "Good™"
She is basically the 24. Century noodlesoup student.
Ash as an AI knows all possible meals saved in her vaste data bank and you could call it cooking to print a perfect nurturing meal in the exact condition you wish it (or being able to communicate it to the computer).
Thanks to Kira's memories she made vast improvements taste wise.

Is your MC a good cook? Any special dishes?
Kira loves to cook and her Family Chilli is superior to that of her mum (the ice queen), her sister's and even her dad's (not that this matter much anymore). She clearly inherited her cooking skills from her biological family plus the nose for details from her second family.
It's ironic that, with her skills, she is the one that almost always comes back to unrefined Enzyme Printer Liquid (EQuil is basically printer ink & if you ask others unrefined it tastes exactly like that, if they would know what printer ink was).
She regularly cooks for the whole crew & it's one of the reasons most of the crew really appreciate her, because she doesn't simply cook one pot, she takes the little spare time she has left, as an acting captain, to create a dish for all different ways people prefer to eat & even organizes the ingredients herself if it is possible, bitter sweet ->

Since I think of this kind of development as an arc which builds over time, there usually isn’t a moment of realization. The 2 closest I can think of is Kan-chan in my 2nd novel becoming friends with Shiro & realizing she has found a place where she is accepted. The 2nd is when Shiomi realizes her ex. is a ghost out to kill her, not a living person trying to reunite with her.
