Now that I only have my website, I've found time to upload my talk about Yocto from 39c3. It was an introduction and crash course to Yocto for beginners. Since it was my first talk, I was very nervous.

You can read about my experience with the talk here: marangoni.cc/posts/20260204-my

The talk itself: marangoni.cc/presentations/#bu

So now fighting with #yocto build that does activate hashserv while i don't even want one.

I used an existing tutorial and get :

WARNING: BB_HASHSERVE_UPSTREAM is not valid, unable to connect hash equivalence server at 'hashserv.yocto.io:8687': OSError(101, 'Network is unreachable')

It would be harmless if it would not stop the build, but it does and build is wanting infinitely

i manage to get it working by sending signal USR1 to stopped process but that not suitable for any automation or even production grade ...

#LinHT 1/2

Production files approved. LinHT Rev B is officially being manufactured.

#LinHT (Linux Handheld Transceiver) is an open-source handheld #radio built around #Yocto #Linux, designed to be fully hackable at both the hardware and software levels. Unlike traditional radios with closed firmware, LinHT runs a real Linux system, enabling rapid development of new digital/analog modes, networking features, and DSP experiments. ....

Released today as well: barebox v2025.09.1, a bug fix release targeting #Yocto #Whinlatter. In anticipation of the Yocto LTS next year, we are honing the workflow so the barebox version shipped with Yocto #Wrynose will be maintained as a stable release for a much longer period of time than the usual one-month cycle.

The (short) release notes are here: github.com/barebox/barebox/rel

Does anyone knows good way to find opportunity for software dev? I'd like to avoid pitfalls of well known platforms. I can do:
- CLI/Dev tools, APIs
- code (#FreeRTOS, , including some or )
- C++ code
- or scripts, tools
- workflows (GitHub, GitLab)
- layers
- packaging +

Anyone has experience in getting hands on small projects?

Edit: I can / Rust or C++.
