First of all, cosmos are flowering. Yay!!!

And all black-eyed pea leaves are gone courtesy of iguanas.

So not happy.

Ordered a fence. Till then, we have to live with it. I know these plants will bounce back. They are tough.

The black-eyed pea plants have no leaves left. At the top right, yellow Cosmo flowers are happy. At the top left, the rosemary plant is looking smart.

I mixed all these old seeds and threw them in a few containers with good soil. If something comes up, great. If not, no problem. For example, in an old container, I threw some old yarrow seeds in January, and they are flowering right now. In any case, throwing old seeds in the trash is a waste.

Blanket flower and black eyed Susan seeds from Ferry Morse, Pacific beauty Calendula from High Mowing, and Bachelor Button and Blanket Flower seeds from Mary’s Heirloom Seeds. Seeds are mixed in a small pink container.

They wait for their turn to settle into Tiny Human’s backyard flower raised bed. I might have some time tomorrow evening to do it with her.

Black eyed peas are popping! They will be the cover crop for one side of the raised bed.

In the front, there are black-eyed pea saplings, Cosmo plants, and an established rosemary plant. In the back are sisso spinach, coreopsis, and native milkweed plants.

Harvested some mangoes. All of them are gone because I gave them to someone who wants to make mango pickles.

This pepper plant was not doing well, even with good soil and fertilizer. I planted amaranth in the bag. Now, the little girl and the amaranth plant are all grown up. I will chop off the amaranth and cook it today. I will leave some leaves so that they keep supporting the pepper plant.

It’s not an intended genius move. I did it because I wanted to experiment.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it today! I had to remove the diseased guava tree from here. I kept putting kitchen scraps in the empty land. Of course, now that spring is here, weeds are also taking over. However, see this? These are guava plants!!!! Apparently, I left a root or two. There are so many of them here. I love it!!! Let me try transplanting them to other parts of the gardens over the weekend.

:( I can’t delay putting a fence around raised beds anymore. I planted a whole bed of veggies. Everything is gone. Cats, iguanas, and squirrels are interested in digging and eating seedlings. It’s not that they will go hungry, especially my mortal enemies, the iguanas. Arrgh!!! I am left with three or four bokchoy, but who knows how long they will last, too.
