The photo shows a large monastery, situated on a limestone hill in the middle of greenery. The frame is divided into 3 equal horizontal parts. One third of the frame from the bottom is a close-up of a dark green oat field, beyond which a narrow strip of yellowish grass peeks out. The middle strip is a tree-covered limestone hill on which stands a sprawling monastery. Limestone rocks are visible only on the right side under the monastery buildings. The baroque C18 library at Stift Admont, Styria, Austria. May 2025. This is a working Benedictine monastery first created in 1074. This elegant room lifts the spirits. The frescoes by the then 80 year old Bartolomeo Altomonte ( Bartholomäus Hohenberg ) are particularly delightful, covering all 7 of the cupolas in the 70 meters long room.
