How to display an image in a console...

Learning about new old stuff... or old new stuff. I'm not sure which.

#TIL about #lsix (https://github.com/hackerb9/lsix) and calling #xterm with the option "-ti vt340" to be able to display inline images inside an xterm—thanks to lsix having just arrived in #DebianUnstable: https://packages.debian.org/sid/lsix

These inline images (or the backend used to display them) seem to be called #sixel graphics. And they're said to work transparently through SSH. Maybe better than #chafa or #catimg.

#Chafa is limited to 256 colors; are there any other *fast* #sixel capable terminal image viewers capable of at least ~1000 colors?

Just watched the series premiere of "Echo" via @disneyplus ... Quite enjoyable, they actually made the "Hawkeye" show seem relevant again ;) #Chafa

Somehow the new #ytfzf release v. 2.0 is a pain to (re)configure, quite some stuff has changed...at least for me. Nevertheless I have a smoother experience and for whatever reason, also #chafa is finally working for rendering thumbnails 🥳
