Fireworks light the sky between Parliament Hill and the Chateau Laurier, in Ottawa. The Fairmont hotel is largely obscured by the Senate of Canada building, which was once Ottawa's central train station. Colour from the fireworks and streetlights paint the Rideau Canal, in the bottom-centre of the photo. To the lower-left, part of the National Arts Centre is visible.

There are three spherical fireworks of pink and gold in the sky. One towered roof of the Chateau Laurier, on the right of the fireworks, glows in green light, while on the left side of the fireworks, the Peace Tower of the parliament buildings is illuminated in purple light. The Canadian flag, at the top of the tower, is clearly visible.
