It is my humble opinion that the Republican party has been on the take from the Russians, nee the Soviets (nee the Russians before then), since the terror of Jimmy Carter and his solar panels on the roof of the White House.

They felt terror. Since that day, they have not stopped fighting against any who disagree with them because of the terror of Jimmy Carter's solar panels (and the hippies with their anti-capitalist counterculture). Truth became an enemy of the state because it said burning fossil fuels, the energy behind endless war, was bad for living things, including us.
America installs right-wing governments when it overthrows left-wing governments because the latter would sell their mothers, cheaply, even if the price involved a hefty cut for a corrupt piggy of an American POTUS. Now, that's oil-soaked capitalism we can count on!
