“Currently years into the development of the #TopologicalQubit, the journey began with a single question, “Could a topological qubit be achieved”?

Working with theory as a starting point, #Microsoft brought together #mathematicians, #ComputerScientists, #physicists, and #engineers to explore possible approaches.

These experts collaborated, discussed methods, and completed countless equations to take the first steps on the path toward realizing a topological #qubit.”

I believe the only difference between science and magic is whether or not you understand it.
From this, I infer that #ComputerScientists are wizards

#ChatGPT can be made to regurgitate snippets of text memorized from its training data when asked to repeat a single word over and over again, according to research published by #ComputerScientists.

The bizarre trick was discovered by a team of researchers working across industry and academia analyzing memorization in #LargeLanguageModels, and detailed in a paper released on arXiv this week. #AI #GenerativeAI

@Mer__edith,
even though annoying for you, I am glad that in you and the others, there finally seem to be , who did see the future coming a year ago.

Did any of you publish any warnings?

I am looking for publications that could lead to an analogy of "BigOilKnew" for the firms.

@PrivacyDigest It'll be a bit hard for the government to #audit the 'black box' of #AI when the #ComputerScientists who created it are unable to do so.

And why does a language generator need to be considered #trustworthy? There's no regulation forcing your computer monitor to only display absolute truths. I'd much rather the #government spend its efforts on making the government trustworthy rather than #tech.

Ammanath stressed that working on AI have yet to solve for , a years-long problem. One major problem is that "AI bots cannot separate truth from fantasy."
