During recent trip to Gylly Beach, we picked up a bunch of Limpet shells.

Have no idea what's the best way to clean them up before letting kiddo use them in play or crafts.

Any advice out there? I'm seeing mixed suggestions when I search online. Want to clean and sanitise them a bit

Generally referred to as King Arthur, this sculpture is actually called Gallos (from the Cornish for 'power') and is supposed to represent something more all-encompassing at the clifftop site of Tintagel where it is located.

#Photography #Tintagel #Gallos #KingArthur #Cornwall #Sculpture #Art

We're on the top of a cliff with soil and flat rock making up the surface until it meets the edge a dozen metres ahead where short grass grows to mark the start of the sheer drop. Beyond the cliff edge there is flat, steel-blue sea to the horizon and the sky above is bright but streaked with hazy veils of cloud. Directly in front of us is a bronze sculpture with signs of weathering from this exposed position high up over the water. The sculpture is that of a bearded man with long cloak and a tight hood drawn up over the head, and a simple band of a crown over the hood to keep it in place. The man stands with legs slightly apart and hands resting on the pommel of a long sword with its tip at the ground. The sculpture has large gashes of material missing allowing us to see through the cloak and even the body of the main to the horizon beyond. The effect is that of a ghostly apparition not quite fully-formed but one standing guard over this place.

Boscawen-Ûn Stone Circle in West Penwith, Cornwall. Photo taken on 16 July 2014.

Colour photo of the prehistoric stone circle at Boscawen-ûn, seen from the strange arrangement of stones on the periphery of the ring. The leaning 2.7m long centre stone can be seen at the left, and is surrounded by 19 stones. A farmhouse can be seen on the horizon.

Germoe, Cornwall

14th century window and some beautiful winter sun

A church window with small panes in a deep recess. Some of the panes are clear and others lightly coloured. Sun is streaming through the window at an angle, lighting up the whitewashed wall and casting shadows of the window.

With a storm front coming through along with high tide I made my way to Botallack Mines, hoping for the perfect wave... 30 minutes of standing in furious winds and rain! It was actually easier walking UP the hill back to the car with the wind behind me than making my way down earlier fighting against the wind.
