The Trump administration first approached Qatar to inquire about acquiring a Boeing 747 that could be used as Air Force One by President Donald Trump, four sources familiar with the discussions told CNN. That’s contrary to the narrative from the president that Qatar reached out and offered the jet as a “gift” to him.
Foulkrod said preparing the new plane for use would take years—pushing any chance for #Trump to use it out past 2027.
“It is ridiculous,” Foulkrod said of the idea that #Qatar’s plane could be a quick fix, adding that the existing Boeing projects could probably be accelerated more. “That’s a better dollar value than trying to take an airplane from somebody else &…make it into a presidential plane.
