Das Debütalbum #Supersnazz der #FlaminGroovies erschien 1969. Als einziges Album für ein Major-Label (Epic) aufgenommen, mischt es Eigenkompositionen mit Rock’n’Roll-Covern. Trotz guter Kritiken blieben kommerzielle Erfolge und Chartplatzierungen für Album und Singles aus. Um einen Plattenvertrag zu erhalten, produzierte die Band vorab eine EP auf eigene Kosten. Heute gilt „Supersnazz“ als einflussreiches Kultalbum.

El otro día #PaulCollins decía en #ElSótano de R3 que no comulgaba con la definición "oficial" de #PowerPop que dio don #PeteTownshend en el '66 ó ''67.
Ni siquiera otorgaba la primogenitura del género a #TheRaspberries, ni a los #FlaminGroovies (por extensión, ni a #Badfinger, #BigStar ni otras bandas de esa era), a los que consideraba precursores.

Rise and shine spin with the GROOVIES!
This was the more #psychedelic version of the band, before Roy Loney left.
Definitely not their best record, but still worth a listen due to a few good songs (particularly the gem She’s Falling Apart), but I think it would have been better if more care was taken in its recording and production, because it’s not the best sounding album in the world.
Certainly not as great as Teenage Head, but few things are.

Great Albums - 1970s: #FlaminGroovies – #TeenageHead (1971). Somebody once said fittingly that Teenage Head is what Sticky Fingers would have sounded like if Memphis rockabilly instead of Chicago blues had been The Stones’ main fascination. Roy Loney’s presence gave the band a frenetic edge they lost later, and “High Flyin’ Baby,” “Have You Seen My Baby,” “Teenage Head” etc. still burn so hot you can smell it. The neglect of this album is a criminal act.
