#Rotterdam is a fantastic city if you like #architecture or #design. We visited last year and I need to head back because we saw just a tiny fraction of what's there.

#HuisSonneveld is a 1933 building in the #Dutch #Functionalist #style that you can visit and be wowed by. Lots of #minimalism in the #InteriorDesign you'll see, but very practical, with lots of great features such as integrated music system through the house. Well worth a look.

A beautiful living room, bright thanks to a large window that takes up almost the entire length of one wall to our left, and filling the middle half of the wall in height. At the far end of the room is a desk with a telephone, framed photo, flowers, and assorted items in front of a built-in bookcase. The walls of the room have a metallic sheen to them and the far corner from us is curved into the space hinting that there is something behind it. A small fireplace is set into the wall to our right and in front is a small, crescent-shaped rug in white with a round glass table on it and some flowers in a vase on top. Around the rug, facing into it and towards the fireplace are four orange chairs. They have a single tubular steel frame; a squared-off rocking chair in appearance, although they won't rock. The material is thick orange leather.A vintage but stylish dining room with some cabinets and a doorway set in a wall to the left and the main wall in front of us filled with a huge window lined with net curtains. Outside we can see trees and the height suggests we're not on the ground floor. A large lightshade hangs down from the centre of the image over a rectangular dining table set for six. The chairs are metal tubular framed and low-backed plastic or leather. The table has a white tablecloth on it and the plates, pots, and containers are set out, all made from a green-yellow plastic with octagonal forms present in the design.A minimalist, almost sterile bedroom that wouldn't look out of place in a vintage hospital. Bare walls and carpets, chairs, and bedding are all in grey-beige tones, while the fittings are in a pale yellow plastic with metal tubular frames common. The bed is a double, formed by two singles pushed together based on the footrests and headboards. At the top of the bed are two shelves just above where the heads would be. Two vintage telephones, some picture frames, and some buttons in a control unit are on the lower shelf that runs the length of the wall. Either side of the bed, suspended below the shelf, are two small cupboards.A vintage bathroom. The prevailing colour is a pale turquoise. A net curtain window to the left with radiator below gives way to a shower cubicle and bath fitted into the length of the wall in front of us, separated by a thick wall. All walled surfaces are fully tiled in large, square, pale turquoise tiles. The shower at the far end has a glass door but we cannot see from this angle inside it. The bath has soap dishes mounted into the wall along the length of the bath at one end, and a shower head on cable along with large, cross-shaped knobs to control water and flow at the other.
