In fall of 2022, on a lark, I spread a packet of borage seed in what was to become the front yard #meadow. Nothing came of it -- probably for the best, I thought, they aren't native. Now, three years later, a whole bunch of seedlings have appeared, among them three crinkly leaved critters below.

An 8" by 8" square of sparse turf with many little seedlings coming up. Three large hairy crinkly seedlings of borage dominate the scene. Other smaller seedlings include cut-leaf geranium, farewell-to-summer, and sea blush -- all annuals. Bits of grass and moss are scattered around.

A very good looking polytunnel with a lot of small plants being warm and alive.

A day later. With how fast this "little guy" grew in a single day, I suspect I need to buy more potting soil ASAP, especially once its siblings sprout.
