I really enjoyed the #PHPVerse event today. Great job to @brendt, @naderman, and all the guest speakers, panelists, and #JetBrains crew!

#PHPverse is not a celebration of the PHP community, it's a carefully branded sales pitch.
The lack of racial, gender, and technological diversity makes it clear: this isn’t a community event, it’s a marketing funnel, dominated by J******s staff and L*****l affiliates, disguised as one.
A real community event should reflect the full spectrum of voices and tools that make PHP what it is, not just what sells licenses and subscriptions.
👏 What a day at #JetBrainsPHPverse2025!
A huge shoutout to @nicolasgrekas , for representing Symfony and sharing his insights with the global PHP community 🙌
Thanks to @jetbrains for putting together such a stellar celebration of PHP’s 30th birthday! 🐘🎉

What I really like about #claudecode latest #WSL2 updates
combined with #jetbrains #IDE's:
there is no need to run claude code inside the jetbrains terminal, you can run it outside and still it's able to communicate with the #IDE - that´s cool 😎

As editor, @rustrover has become completely useless. It inserts automatically braces, source code, things I do not want, everything. I spend more time deleting lines than adding. #JetBrains #RustRover
A new post is up on my #blog - today I talk about some debugging tips for #intellij and other #jetbrains IDEs. I hope they can be helpful to someone! ☺️

PSA: If you're a GNOME Wayland + Jetbrains IDE user, and are experiencing issues with window focus,
- open "Help > Edit custom VM options" in the IDE
- add `-Dawt.toolkit.name=WLToolkit`
- restart the IDE
Fixes issue of the IDE window not being focused when switching to it using the mouse. The window seemed to be in focus, but keyboard input was still going to the previous window. Alt+tab / super+tab was working like it should.
I actually switched to Plasma (Aurora) on my ${dayjob} machine because of this a few years back, TIL.
As much as I like Jetbrains Rider when it's all set up, my main concern about having to reinstall Linux is that I'll have to get the various parts of Rider playing nicely with the various dotnet runtimes & SDKs again.
Although with .Net 9 it seems like it's less hassle to just install .net from the msft repo, rather than letting Rider manage a local version, especially if .Net 8 is needed as well (which it seems to insist on for scaffolding identity).

Every single day I practice with the tutor of the #helix editor and getting better. What a joy never leaving the keyboard.
I used to write code with multiple #Jetbrains IDE and never had problems.
Still, helix is very fast, once you remember the shortcuts you speed up as well.
Things I always need to google, like multi-line editing is so easy now.
