For my article about the
drama of #owncloud #nextcloud #opencloud (coming soon on #Golem) I have an interesting backgroud read for my dear followers: Isn't it interesting where the #kiteworks people that bought owncloud came from? And those guys, that some say where involved in the development of #stuxnet, told us that they bought owncloud because of OCIS technology (owncloud infinite scale), which they called "best on the market" and the "future platform for us"

As a journalist, I already have collected a lot of input and hints, details and documents. Nevertheless, I have no deadline and I am looking for more. If you have any interesting facts, findings, documents, memories and similar, no matter if it's about the 20+ (?) court cases or legal exchanges between the first two forks or the recent ones (#kiteworks) please drop it here – or call me, I will treat all input anonymously, as I have been doing before.

First version of #OpenCloud is available now. Remember this is not PHP. This is cloud native, formerly known as ownCloud Infinite Scale. This scales.
And all of this is only possible because the great guys at #owncloud did do their homework, REAL #OPENSOURCE without limits.

Regarding the acquisition of #ownCloud by #Kiteworks the #FOSDEM talk of David Walter mentions a "five-year plan" with a "pledge to sustain open-source innovation for at least five years" (see PDF slides at https://shorturl.at/jmDX1).

Anyone got insights or ideas on what that is supposed to mean?

With #oCIS being used in the public sector there are surely some players interested in a more long-term #FOSS policy, no?

Will anyone step up to maintain #oCIS in the open if Kiteworks backs out?
