Hallo liebe #Spoonies oder Angehörige, hat jemand eine Empfehlung für eine Apotheke in Deutschland, die Low-Dose-Naltrexon #LDN mit 0,5mg pro Gabe zubereiten kann und will?
Was zahlt ihr dafür?

Ich sehe hier vor Ort gerade nur große Fragezeichen oder Unwillen sich damit zu befassen in den Gesichtern der Apotheken-"Profis"...

@npr @shots-health-news-npr I’m pretty sure the Compounding Pharmacy I use did this with the naltrexone powder for #LDN and the problem is that it gets stale once it’s opened.

I think I have 70 days worth of ineffective medication because of this. It’s going to be a real problem.

This post accurately describes my LDN experience (except I’m not lowering my dose because it’s already tiny.)

It makes a huge difference, but it also doesn’t change the illness if that makes sense.

Idk the way she wrote this I was like “yep LDN is great, and yeah, that’s a normal travel crash.”

Then one of the replies talks about going on a trip and having to spend six days in bed on the trip, and that’s exactly why I stopped traveling before I found LDN in March of 2020.

The only travel I’ve had to do since I started LDN was when I had to drive to Arkansas to get my dad’s ashes and things I wanted from his house. It didn’t wreck me like I thought it would even with the extra emotional stuff.

(I’ll paste the post text in a reply in case you don’t want to click on a reddit link)

@AndrewGiffordphotography @Rhube LDN changed my life at the 1st dose. I can’t even express how grateful I am that I had a young arrogant pain management Doctor who convinced me that it would be OK to try it even though I take oxycodone every day all day.

The whole entire Internet had me convinced I couldn’t do it, and honestly if I were to increase my dose of either one of these medications it probably wouldn’t work out, but it works and it saved my life.

Before #LDN I was lucky if I had one to two usable hours a day, and I really only had that if I had a rest day before. I couldn’t sleep through the night at all, I took one 0.5 mg capsule one morning and the next morning I slept until 9 AM. I didn’t need a nap that day, and I slept through the night the next night too.

Now I never need a nap unless I’ve overexerted myself, or if I smoke too much weed. But seriously, I still plan a rest day before and after I have to do anything big. I still have crashes where I wake up at three or 4 AM, like today. But I was almost ready to give up seeking help.

I started in March 2020, I plan to take this medication for the rest of my life, as long as we can keep getting it from China anyway.

If I lose access to this medication because of tariffs, well y’all might see me on the news at that point, I don’t know. If I have to fall by the wayside I won’t go quietly.

Yep #LDN is a MIRACLE for my stupid early waking #insomnia from #MECFS

(I’ve always taken it in the morning so maybe if I took it at night like the Internet says I’m supposed to it wouldn’t work this way, but damn. This stuff is fantastic when it’s fresh!)

If anyone is reading this who could possibly explain why this stuff doesn’t work for a full 90 days if I buy a bottle of 90 capsules I would be so fascinated to learn because the pharmacy humors me but I’m not sure they believe me because they don’t have any explanation why the tub of powder can sit on their shelf but as soon as they make it into capsules the clock starts.

I slept until 6:15 today. I probably should have stayed asleep longer but my little cat wanted attention.

I suspect I woke up at 3 AM because my #LDN was stale. Also because I didn’t take a sleeping pill last night because after I popped it in my mouth I was afraid I already took it so I spit it out. Apparently I was wrong lol

I took a fresh LDN this morning, if I don’t sleep past 6 AM tomorrow something is really wrong with me. I shouldn’t be in a crash, I haven’t done anything. FML

Ich werde bei sowas richtig wütend. Auch in Anbetracht der völlig unverhältnismäßigen Diskussion um Betrug bei Bürgergeld und Migration.

Hey if you need a compounding pharmacy these people are 5 stars. (They’re in Waltham, Massachusetts but they ship for free.)

I’m OK with this price increase this year. I can live with this. It may go up again but I thought it would be so much worse.

(This is 90 count of 0.5 mg #LDN with the standard avicel filler. If you’re buying a more popular dose it may cost less, if you prefer a different filler like ginger it may cost more.

#naltrexone #CompoundingPharmacy

A screenshot of my Compounding Pharmacy charges the most recent one is today and it’s $69.95, in January it was that same price.
May August and November last year the same prescription was $67.50.

Can people please stop saying “hahaha well nobody needs that trash from china anyway” in response to #tariffs?

Just because you don’t need anything, or just because you think the only people who spend money in this country spend it on Trash, doesn’t mean that the only thing we get from China is trash that nobody needs.

I drive a Volvo that is owned by a Chinese company. I need my car because we don’t have public transportation here. I’m a disabled poor person who can’t actually spend 500 times more on car parts if I need them.

But not even that, the only medication that helps with my chronic illness comes directly from China because the US refuses to produce it because they can’t make record profits from it.

And these are just two examples from one person who barely has money to spend anyway.

Please take a moment to think outside of your household and your ZIP Code and your judgments. I’m starting to take it personally this morning when I’m seeing ha ha this is a good thing people can’t get stuff from China.

My life matters. I deserve to be able to get out of bed, prepare food, clean my apartment, shower sometimes, and go outside once in awhile. I need #LDN or I will go back to being bedbound.

@FandaSin @_9CL7T9k8cjnD_ the thing is not everything we get from #China is garbage.

For example, the only medication that has ever helped my #MECFS is LDN. And the only way I can get LDN is from Compounding pharmacies who buy the naltrexone powder from China.

The United States has been getting naltrexone from China since at least the 80s. My neurologist said his #MS patients used to have to order it themselves so in 2020 he was delighted to hear all the compounders have it now.

The US has never tried to be a supplier of #naltrexone because there’s no $ to be made with an old generic med.

I couldn’t stock up on it because it gets stale and doesn’t work as well. I buy 90 days at a time but I usually toss the last week or two because they don’t work anymore, and even doing that it’s still more affordable than buying only 60 days at a time.

I’m not accusing you of being racist at all, I’m just saying it’s kind of racist to assume that everything we get out of China is just garbage nobody needs.

If I can’t get #LDN I might have to go back to being bedbound after having a bit of a life for the past five years.

And I’m not sure I will just quietly fall by the wayside. I might need to end up on the news so people understand that disabled people with nothing left to lose aren’t going to just shut up and go die quietly. (I’m being hyperbolic, sort of. I would never hurt other people to make a point, but if I have to check out people are going to hear about it.)

@mimiimim @Sheril Naltrexone is (or was) used as a treatment for alcoholism. It’s a really old medication that comes from China so there’s not a bunch of money to be made here in America from it, so I’m not sure they use it anymore.

It’s supposed to cut down on the cravings, I think it also makes you sick if you drink on it but I’m not real sure.

I take low dose naltrexone (0.5 mg) for MECFS & I am currently kind of freaking out about it because the compounding pharmacies buy the powder from China. I already pay $70 for 90 days worth, I have to call and order a refill this morning and I’m scared. I’m actually more worried about it be becoming completely unavailable than becoming super expensive.

So if anyone reading this is considering trying it for alcoholism, ask your doctor. It’s possible the dose for that is the 50 mg tablets that pharmaceutical companies make because they are profitable so people can probably still get it if that’s the right dose.

I should have left the link

reddit.com/r/covidlonghaulers/

I read the comments and in case anyone from here reads them I just wanted to say a couple things.

I don’t think people have withdrawals from stopping #LDN. I certainly haven’t, but since I also take oxycodone every day I am an unusual case.

But there’s no reason that I know of to believe stopping LDN would cause withdrawals at all.

Also someone in the comments told OP that they would still have it in their system after three days I don’t think that’s true at all.

It might be dose dependent, but I know for a fact that the 0.5 mg that I take has a half life of like four hours at the most. I usually don’t even wait more than two hours after taking it before I take my first oxycodone of the day and there’s no interaction.

I’m not an expert, I’ve only been taking this medication since 2020, but it improved my situation so much I thought I was in remission. I got excited and I picked up more hours at work and after a month I crashed so hard I thought I had Covid. I didn’t, but I was not able to get back to that level of functional.

This makes me so sad. This is from the Covid long hauler Reddit sub, and this makes me so sad.

I’ve taken breaks from taking LDN (for #MECFS from mono) when I have had to take lots of opioid pain medication and I don’t want to deal with interactions. So far it has never set me back except for on the days I don’t take it.

The compounding pharmacies have been buying the #naltrexone powder from #China since at least the 80s. If they can’t get it, we can’t get LDN.

And I can’t take the medication this person is taking, #Wellbutrin makes me feel like I’m going to crawl out of my skin, and if I take more than 0.5 mg naltrexone I will give myself opioid withdrawals because I take pain medication from pain management.

#FML is right. This is the only medication I have ever taken that actually helps my chronic ill illness. Adderall can help me push through if I have to do something I can’t do, but I wouldn’t call that exactly helpful.

#LDN is the only treatment I have found for MECFS that helps me and I think we’re all going to run into problems pretty quickly.

I was in remission for a solid year. I didn't experience PEM during this year and I held a full time job and did aerobic and strength training. Then a mixup happened with the LDN and I missed 3 doses while waiting for more to be compounded. It's been two weeks and I am still feeling awful.
I have taken time off work, because after 2 hours my brain switches off and l if I push it I go into PEM. I have to use a wheelchair again to avoid crashes, which now are no longer just worse fatigue but also several days of insomnia and diarrhea.
I'm scared I'll lose my job and my country offers almost non-existent disability grants ($100 a month).
My doctor gave me Contrave to try because it's
Welbutrin + LDN.
Fml but hoping for the best.

@alessandro @brewsterkahle oh yeah, I’m totally screwed. The only medication in 13 years that has worked for my #MECFS is low-dose naltrexone (#LDN ).

I’m not sure if the only place to order the powder from is China or if that’s just where all the Compounding pharmacies buy it because it’s affordable, but it’s not something I can stock up on. It goes bad really fast.

If I have to go back to being mostly bedbound trust and believe I’m not just going to quietly fall by the wayside. My mother went out quietly, I will not.
