@cheryanne i'm sure it seems bonkers, prolly outright unstable, to external eyes, & indeed maybe it is. tis just that, exactly like my years of linux distrohopping, i have certain ideas & preferences for how my ideal UI & UX might be, could be, should be, & am somewhat unwilling to tolerate unnecessary compromise, when there is a world of possibilities freely open to us. also, i am an ever-curious geek, who just loves exploration & learning. the one glaring "friction" difference twixt my analogy of distrohopping vs fedihopping, is my awareness that whilst the former affects only me, the latter affects other peeps too, & so for that reason i sincerely do try to moderate myself... but the pressure does grow over time, until... 🤭

@raroun hello there! this is Droppie from her new, replacement, account for the broken, now deleted, MsDropbear42@friendica.opensocial.space. this replacement account is behaving perfectly, afaict, including excellent responsiveness [so many of the older Friendica accounts i have had, elsewhere, suffered from agonisingly poor latency, with almost every interaction; yours is nicely fast]. the only major difference in origin is that this time i created a standard clean account then manually set up all my settings & contacts... whereas with the prior account, as you recall, i had used that experimental profile-import tool, via the link at the bottom of the registration page. i know that does not prove this was the root cause of all the subsequent problems, but afaict it seems a pretty strong bit of circumstantial evidence. IMO, it might be better to remove that option, until someone is able to properly validate the tool is not defective.

i know it sounds like a lie, but really it's not. i've spent the entire day [tis now evening] believing it was friday. just now i finished working on one of my recurrent tasks whose reminder pops up each six months in #thunderbird, so i marked it off as now complete. then, & only then, as i realised that tb was telling me tis thursday, i metaphorically slapped my forehead & said "oh no, i've stuffed up the days yet again, d'oh". really, my silly skullgoo still amazes me, despite all the hundreds of years i've had to get used to it. sigh.
