Last comment I’m adding to my #DIY post this morning- but I will answer questions if you comment. And sure will be happy to hear if others try this out. For the record, I only had 1 cup mandarin orange peels but think 2 cups better. I saved them in bag in fridge till I had enough. I think orange peels are thicker so will provide more pulp. For those very interested here is link to the 13! year old post that to me, started a lot of people making this cleaner:

drkarenslee.com/citrus-enzyme-
and next post will have Jillee’s OGT version. Both posts have many other uses for the spray cleaner and the paste. Also see comments and replies on this 2012 post.

The main result of the concoction is the liquid that looks like orange juice. Strain it well and put into spray bottle. Add 1 cup apple cider vinegar. Spray as a multi-purpose cleaner in kitchen. It is strong! There is a bit of orange smell that goes away in a few minutes. Also, forgot to say, turn that bottle of the peels daily, gently. The pressure really builds up. Release a bit of it daily and don’t screw down cap too tight. Btw I forgot to gently release the pressure on the day I stopped the fermenting. It practically went off like a bomb! Scared the guys, but good. So my DIY has 2 main uses for me, both well worth the effort. Per my bio, I guess I really did ferment AND foment here. #TipOfDay #EnzymeCleaner #Enzymes #Oven #OvenCleaner

So to use the pulp left from that bottled of fermented citrus peels just strain, put in blender with a little water enough for blender to mash it up, and put in a small container with tight lid. I spread it out on the oven “baked on grease” for 1/2 hour. Then lightly scrub off with mesh or no-scratch cleaning sponge. You can also mix with enough baking soda to make a paste to use. This lasted me about 5 years keeping it under the sink. Next comment how I used the liquid enzyme cleaner. #TipOfDay #EnzymeCleaner #Enzymes #Oven #OvenCleaner

My first photo of these 3 is pretty dramatic, yes? That’s why it’s worth it to make this non-toxic enzyme cleaner instead of using oven cleaner that makes fumes and takes forever. Friend’s wife killed their old cockatoo by spraying commercial oven cleaner on her warm oven and then closing it to set 4 hours. My friend came in later and opened apartment door to a place that reeked of chemicals. Their pet bird was dead in his cage in the dining room. I’m adding my little notes in this comment and next. #TipOfDay #EnzymeCleaner #Enzymes #Oven #OvenCleaner

Here it is and seriously, this is very cool for a #TipOfDay. I remembered a way to make enzyme cleaner and hadn’t got around to making a new batch. Here’s what I put in the bottle and waited 2 weeks, turning it once a day: About a cup of torn-up mandarin orange peels, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 tsp yeast. Fill bottle to about 2/3 or 2/3 full of water (usually 1 liter water). Here’s what you can do with it at 2 weeks or so: strain for the liquid to make a spray cleaner and save the pulp for oven cleaner paste. Details first comment. #EnzymeCleaner #Enzymes #Oven #OvenCleaner

From 2018 old oven opened to show half the inside oven door cleaned from many years of dark, baked-on grease. It is very stark to see the shiny light gray enamel next to the dirty dark brown enamel to the right. Used non-toxic enzyme oven cleaner as described in post.New home 2025 and you see my new oven 3 years old. It is a closeup of the oven door inside view with a dark gray to black enamel finish and an oven window. Look close to see the orange paste of enzyme cleaner spread in a line bottom to top of door. I keep my own oven very clean most of the time so it never gets as bad as in the previous photo for a rental house. Closer in you can see brown specks of baked-on brown grease. This is a before photo: see next photo.Same oven as in previous photo, but now the orange line of enzyme cleaner is wiped away leaving the middle of the oven clean. It’s subtle but to the right you still see the speckles of grease. This is after photo.

#Werkabenteuer Projekt Ende Juni: #Glasperlen drehen am #Lehmofen

Turning #glass #beads above the #clay #oven.

#Burning handsplitted large spruce wood chunk on high temperatures in the #oven. Barely went through the oven door. Gave cozy warmth.

The image shows a burning log inside a wood-fired ove. The log is large and partially charred, glowing intensely with deep red and orange hues. The surface of the wood has deep cracks, revealing the embers inside.
There are smaller chunks of burning embers around the log, radiating a soft red and purple glow. A faint blue flame is visible near the top of the log, which often occurs when certain gases from the wood burn at high temperatures. The background consists of firebrick walls, which are slightly illuminated by the heat. The entire scene has a warm and rustic ambiance, reminiscent of traditional wood-burning ovens or fireplaces.

Unfortunately, I added far more wood afterwards.
