Ok, I have an overclocking related question. Ish. Things being as they are, I decided to undervolt my RAM. I figured maybe if I was really lucky I might get it down by 0.05V maybe.

But either I'm adjusting the wrong settings or it has gone impossibly low. This RAM is rated for running at 1.35V at full speed and it's at full speed (EXPO-II timings too.) I have it set for 1.10V. That... shouldn't even post.

But lowering it much below 1.10 causes it to go to failsafe mode on boot, so I guess the settings aren't actually being ignored?

Other stuff went way down too. "Memory VPP" defaulted to 1.8. I set it to the lowest possible value 1.5 and it seems to be fine.

So far this all passes memtest?

Am I setting the right settings? This is crazy low.

A motherboard firmware setup screen. DRAM VDD voltage and DRAM VDDQ are both set to 1.100V. SoC voltage is lowered to 1.17 (seems to run actually 1.20 down from something like 1.28.)A second firmware screen. "Memory" VDD and VDDQ seem to mirror DRAM from the previous page. Memory VPP is down to 1.5 from 1.8. (Lowest it will set.)

Imagine the overclocking you could do with these. Much more efficient than dry ice. He was able to get it down to -93C by using both stacked on top of each other.

AMD Ryzen 9 3900 65W Processor Breaks Overclocking World Records

The AMD Ryzen 9 3900, a 12-core, 24-thread processor with a low 65W TDP, has achieved impressive world records in overclocking. Despite having lower base clock speeds compared to its higher-power counterpart, the Ryzen 9 3900X, the 3900 still performs admirably. At stock, it operates at a base frequ... [More info]

STM32 Short #7 - OVERCLOCKING is it possible?

Planning a video on the STM32 clock configuration we decided to experiment with overclocking. Can you in fact overclock a STM32 MCU past the specifications and how far can you push it. Lawyers might argue I need to include a disclaimer here: "Do not try this at home", but I really think you SHOULD try this at home.

Watching Jayz2Cents and company doing Extreme Overclocking with LN2 and stuff, and dealing with moisture and I'm over here wonder why they're not putting the computer in an acrylic bucket and letting the LN2 displace the air around the computer. Put a top on it, leave a hole a bit bigger than the pot with the pot located inside, and let the LN2 boiloff displace all the wet air with Nitrogen.

You'd effectively eliminate condensation issues.

(In theory other gasses could work too, but LN2 is self replacing in this system, and effectively free, it's just going out into the room otherwise.)

A quote about #Celeron:

> In 1998, Intel released the Celeron to compete with cheap CPUs from AMD and Cyrix. To make it, they took all of the Level 2 cache off a Pentium II, clocked it at 266 or 300 MHz, and sold it at an AMD-like price. But due to the lack of L2 cache, it was slower than a previous-generation Pentium running at 233 MHz, let alone an AMD or Cyrix chip running at 266 or 300 MHz.
>
> But the L2 cache was the Pentium II’s limiting factor in overclocking. So a 266 MHz Celeron ran happily at 400 MHz, or potentially even 450 MHz, the same speed as the fastest Pentium II at the time. It was slower than a Pentium II at the same speed, but it worked well for 3D gaming.
>
> But the only people who bought those Celerons were overclockers and people who didn’t know anything about computers. […]

Cytat na temat procesorów #Celeron (tłum. moje):

> W roku 1998, Intel wydał Celerona, by konkurować z tanimi procesorami AMD i Cyriksa.

I'm really impressed with ASUS's AI Overclocking routines. I'm not big on overclocking (I've bricked stuff before so no thanks) but this really is a one click solution.

And if I'm getting such scores with an AIO cooler, then I'm happy \o/
