Ich nutze #Pairdrop sehr regelmäßig (im Heimnetz), um Dateien oder Texte zwischen meinem Dienst iPad und meinem Debian PC auszutauschen. Klar geht es mit Airdrop noch schneller, aber das passt schon.

@jonah Yea, I just tried a video and it auto-compressed. Went from 200mb to 5mb. Quality was noticeably worse, but not terrible. For documents, I don't send them a lot. I #selfhost #zipline, #filerun, and #pairdrop instances, so I could use one of those in a pinch.

Right now #PairDrop is working perfectly, and seems pretty safe (and libre).

@rival Great tip! Having failed to get #LocalSend working on a Raspberry Pi, #pairdrop is doing the job for Mac <-> Pi local transfers. Now to look hosting it myself.
