Компиляцию большой программы можно сравнить с кипячением воды. Вы никогда не можете сказать сколько еще осталось времени до окончания процесса. Многим пользователям GUI-IDE приходится страдать от того, что запустив сборку проекта приходится ждать окончания непредсказуемое время. Однако эту проблему можно решить, если собирать код скриптами сборки. Достоинством сборки проекта из самостоятельно написанных скриптов является то, что в процесс сборки можно добавлять всяческие полезные механизмы. Вы программируете не только свою прошивку, но и процесс сборки самой прошивки. Здорово? В этом тексте я написал про то, как добавить индикатор прогресса в процесс сборки прошивки.

I see Synology have taken some UI hints from Microsoft about how progress bars should (not) work.

The progress bar in the Hyper Backup app has slowly gone from 0% to 100% but does that mean the task has finished?

Of course not!

Now the progress bar has been replaced by the word “Waiting” and three animating dots with zero indication of how long I should be "waiting" for.

It's this sort of shit by developers that absolutely infuriates normal people!

Erscheint mir durchaus plausibel, zu smoothe Ladebalken sind mir auch suspekt. Zu oft läuft dahinter nur ein Timer, der mit dem wirklichen Fortschritt nichts zutun hat.

Продолжаю эпопею с модальными экранами на SwiftUI. Но сегодня больше кода. Была задача, сделать ProgressView и SkeletonView. Вдруг кому-то пригодится, показываю. ProgressView по дизайну должен был быть с градиентной полоской загрузки, по дефолту так нельзя сделать, поэтому я решила заменить полосочку - имитацией полоски загрузки. То есть у нас есть нормальный ProgressView, у него делаем невидимой полоску загрузки, а сверху имитация полоски загрузки - градиентная View.

Am I reinventing the wheel, or is there an established way to get a #progressbar for a #workflow via the #snakemake Python API? I'm not satisfied with my workaround outlined on https://github.com/snakemake/snakemake/issues/3151 but avoiding the additional file system overhead will mean digging deeper into snakemake internals...
