Yikes, I thought it was Friday & have been waiting for Phil to call it & send cheers šŸ» to him for the weekend. Now I’ve gone & poured myself a lovely glass of RosĆØ & realise it’s only Thursday 😬. Oh well, the wine is very nice anyway.
Anyway, I did my walk around the river this morning, ended up at 7.5km which is pretty credible. Took some photos of the new artwork & another of the beautiful Roos 🦘there were some big boys in that mob. The gum leaves I absolutely love. The indigenous panels are beautiful too & I think the two I’ve included are the best. Sadly I walked into this track a little further than I planned & some dirtbags have dumped their household rubbish a little further down the track. Some humans are a such a blight! It was a lovely walk though albeit very cold & the council have put a signpost at the start now so it won’t be my private domain any longer - I have to share it 😁. #Exercise #RiverWalk #MurrayRiver #GatewayIsland

Four large metal guy leaves looking like they’ve just fallen from a tree, with a raised platform inside. A eucalyptus tree is framed behind it & native bush behind that. All framed against a lovely cloud filled sky with a bright streak of blue near the top.A mob of kangaroos 🦘 alert to my presence & standing in a paddock of drying grasses & weeds. Native trees can be seen behind the kangaroos.I don’t know if I’ll do this justice, but I’ll try.
Indigenous art work on a pylon under an old railway bridge. It shows a yellow sun in the corner with rays streaming out, beside it is a black bird, like a raven plus some Bogong moths in the sky, possibly food for the raven. Then beside that are some red tinged hills. Beneath are representations of grasses, bushes, plants & flowers. Beneath again is the soil with plant root systems, then what looks like water with a patterned serpent swimming through.Between two old railway bridge pylons with indigenous artwork of two possums sitting in the forks of trees on either side of the picture. In the middle is what I believe may be the moon. I’m not sure what the white wavy lines represent but for me I see them fluid, like dew.

Thoroughly enjoyed my walk this morning. I decided to take the shorter route due to the weather & I’m very glad I took my umbrella. I did forget my phone though, but that wasn’t an issue except I couldn’t take photos & of course came across a few things I wanted to photograph. There’s a new art installation of large metal gum leaves, I saw a wallaby which isn’t usual in the area. There’s also a road bridge that the path goes under which has lots of graffiti on the pylons. The people who tag it call it the ā€˜bridge of truth’ & someone has taken the time to write a poem on one pylon. I also went off track & into a new area that leads to the old railway bridge which has proper artwork attached underneath. It should have only been a 5km walk but ended up doing just shy of 7km - I loved it & the exploring.

I had my walk & not long into it I wasn’t feeling the greatest & was thinking I should turn back but I’m so glad I didn’t. It was a fabulous walk.
I don’t know what I did but I’m feeling so much better, I’m not squinting to try & focus & the dizziness isn’t as often. It’s not perfect but I can turn my head easily if I don’t do it too fast. Fingers crossed šŸ¤žšŸ¼I’ve solved my own problem & hopefully it continues. Maybe I’ve just pushed through it - I don’t know, I don’t think it’s quite over šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø but I’ll take it & if it happens again, I’ll go for a walk šŸš¶šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜ƒ.
The low river is really exposing a few things, it’s down by a good metre or two in some spots. I even walked into the bush at one stage as I’d seen a mob of kangaroos 🦘, but backed out when I came across a homeless camp. Still I did get to see a roo 😁. #Vertigo #RiverWalk #Exercise #MurrayRiver #Kangaroo

The mighty Murray not looking quite as mighty lately.
A dull green river with a fallen tree exposed by the low water. There’s a sandy bank nearby & the whole photo is surrounded by native bush & trees. The Australian bush, creamy coloured & dying grasses & weeds & a small eucalyptus tree.
Right in the centre of the photo is a kangaroo, quite light coloured with dark ears. It’s barely visible.

The newly added skeg on my packraft really transformed the experience. Before that I got 180 degree turns as soon as I stopped paddling. Difficult if you just want to check something on the map etc.

Now it's really holding the course nicely. <3

I also tried packing the foldable bike on top for the first time. I expected it to be somewhat unstable in the roll axis or harder to maneauver but I rarely noticed a difference.

Now I definetely got the confidence for a first longer trip, up the river with the bike and down with the raft.

G’day my tooting friends. Thank you šŸ™šŸ¼ for all your kind words & support over the last couple of days. We still don’t know what is going to happen. It’s becoming a waiting game that can go either way. My sister is very unwell & may need surgery but isn’t well enough to have it & considering her conditions, it may not happen. Her other daughter is on her way from Perth & should arrive sometime this afternoon. Day by day. I don’t what is going to happen & my time on here will probably be sporadic because of it.
I woke up pre dawn this morning after a restless sleep & after my shower I decided on the spur of the moment I was going for a walk to clear my head & it was a good move. I probably shouldn’t have gone as my foot is now aching, but it cheered me up, gave me a few laughs & I saw kangaroos 🦘. I didn’t realise how early it was when I left home, it was before 8am, cold & frosty with mist rising from the river looking very beautiful. I picked a figure 8 route that goes along an old railway track. I haven’t walked this way in a long time & it was a good pick, just longer than I remembered at 6km. In one spot I saw a potato šŸ„” beside the path too šŸ˜‚, I couldn’t believe it & it was starting to sprout - guess what did, I brought it home & planted it 😬 - as you do!

View of the dark Murray River with a band of white mist being blown across it in the cold early morning. A bridge can just been seen midway & native trees are lining the bank against a beautiful blue sky.A dry paddock, bush & weeds with eucalyptus trees behind. At the very centre of the picture is a kangaroo 🦘 catching the morning suns rays. Lots of shadows of trees & bushes can be seen across the paddock.

I’ve not long arrived home from my walk which was a perfect 6km. In one spot I went down the bank & onto the sand that is usually well covered in water. There was a fish splashing around, but I never actually saw it, I kept missing it, but I did hear it twice & saw the ripples. Once home I got out of the car to open the garage & saw my pelargonium had quite a few downy feathers on it. I was looking at them & on the ground were three little feathers joined together, moving together, like they were alive 😳. Weirded me out a little bit so I picked them up and there was a sugar ant underneath šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚.

Ok. Time to get off politics & cleanse my timeline onto other things for a while at least. More photos from my walk yesterday where it connected with the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk. These 3 were my favourites. #RiverWalk #Albury.

I set of three metal sculptures of Australian Kookaburras, the middle has its beak open, wings outstretched with the two on the sides looking on. They sit on a sandy area surrounded my native grasses with eucalyptus trees behind. In front of native bush & a eucalyptus tree is a rectangular metal sculpture with cutouts. Central is a large bird with very long legs going into water, to the right of the legs is a turtle & to the left a fish, underneath is what I think is wetland plants. I believe the top cutouts are five hands over all.I love this one. This is a shiny metal shield with a darker edge & has cutouts of the sun. Down the middle is a figure one side light, the other side dark with a wavy edge all the way through to the foot area. Each arm reaching down with the hands slightly tipped up.

Good morning tooters & it was our first real frost this morning at -1c & it feels like it too 😃. It’s not crunchy underfoot outside though & it’s going to be a beautiful sunshiny day of 19c. Perfect. I am warm enough & have just turned the heater off, but I do have my Oodie on for now.
Yesterday I was out of the door by 8.30am meeting up with the friend on the Albury side of the Murray for a walk, one I haven’t done in years & I knew it had changed as I can see glimpses of it from my side of the river. It was a big walk for me, nearly 9km because it’s not always flat but I thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a coffee at a cafe at the end of it & then went our separate ways, me to come home & not do much else for the rest of the day šŸ˜‚. I was pretty tired in the afternoon, I’m fine now though & ready for a new day. Adding some pictures of #Wetlands & the #MurrayRiver which shows how low it is. I have other pictures of the sculpture walk that is part of this walk & I’ll share later.
Hope everyone has a terrific #Tuesday whatever it is you’re doing 🌻. Enjoy your day. #Weather #Exercise #RiverWalk

An area of dark water with dead tree trunks & wetland shrubs. Near the centre is a curved log with a number of ducks perched on it.A view of a very low Murray River with gravel clearly visible not far from the bank. Bleached dead wood lines the bank on the foreground & bush & trees are visible on the other side of the river.

Invitation at dawn Come sit with me, and let our talk flow like the river, our laughter like the ripples, and our silence like the companionable breeze. ā˜ŗļø #photography #landscape #riverscape #dogwalking #iphone #riverwalk #gift #EastCoastKin

An empty park bench with a tree overhanging the right-hand end faces the Brisbane river. Immediately in front is a three railed fence, and then the river stretches away to left and further to right. On the distant, opposite bank is a ferry terminal and some jetties. Behind, a dawn sky is brightening into day behind grey clouds. A nice spot for a chat.

What a lovely full day I’ve had today. The weather has been absolutely perfect, for me šŸ˜„, but it’s heading down to a chilly 3c tonight.
I met up with my friend for my planned walk today, it would have been around 11-12km if we’d gone all the way but my friend started to struggle nearly 4km in, so we turned around & walked back. Still it was a very credible walk of 7.8km & I think my friend did really well as she doesn’t walk as often as I do. I felt so good though & was still feeling good when we got back to the car. It might not haven’t been the case if I had got to do the whole walk though šŸ˜‚. #RiverWalk #Exercise
After lunch I went down to Kmart to buy a warm blanket for under the doona on the spare bed. Then off to Bunnings for more potting mix & some garden edging. The edging isn’t for the garden, it’s for the bottom of the shared fence to block the gap & stop my neighbour from sending anymore than water under fence when he’s hosing his back area. Looking at the edging though, I think it will be perfect for the narrow garden bed I want to build down the side of my unit & easy to put together. I just need some good rains to soften the ground. I’ve been looking for something like this for ages long time - winning.
I missed doing my morning msg, so I hope everyone has had a fantastic #Friday #HereComesTheWeekend

Such a lovely day today. Thoroughly enjoyed my walk around the river, the water is so low though as you can tell from the photo. I’m feeling so good with my walking again that I’m not missing the swimming so much now. On Friday I’m going to go to a new walk I’ve only explored twice before & never completed it as it’s a long one. I’ll give it a go anyway.
After lunch I went to Bunnings & picked up a few things including a new power board that my induction plates connect to as the old one died. I didn’t get all I wanted done today, but that’s ok - it was a good day & there’s no reason to hurry. #RiverWalk #Exercise #MightyMurray #IloveMyLife #Autumn

View of a greenish coloured Murray River, it’s pale because the water is low. There are 4 little ducks in the river & some leaves from a eucalyptus is hanging from the right corner. At the back of the photo is the white blurred image of a dead tree mirrored in the water.

A little waterfall and river therapy for today. Enjoy! #nature #naturephotography #landscape #waterfall #river #riverwalk #photography #photo #beautiful

See fig. 1 1. Fig tree next to the Brisbane River riverwalk at New Farm. I'm pretty sure there's a #limegreen in there somewhere #acoloradAyPRIL #photography #dogwalking #iphone #riverwalk #tree #fig #urban #EastCoastKin #PhotographersUnited

A very large, imposing, almost hemispherical crowned fig tree, with dense, bright green foliage and a large trunk. It's growing in the gardens of apartments adjoining the riverwalk along the Brisbane river.
